CS1107 - Social Computing

Course Description

The Social Computing course is an introduction to social computing. Students will survey a variety of social computing applications and learn how to evaluate the usefulness and effectiveness of these applications. Based on what they learn, students will be expected to complete a term project involving the creation and/or evaluation of social computing application(s), and present their findings to their peers. Concurrently, students will be introduced to a variety of perspectives on the social issues and impacts that stem from social computing. Students will be introduced to the various technologies used to implement social computing applications and resulting issues.
