Welcome

As a faculty member in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie, I do research in information retrieval on the web and HCI issues related to accessing the web on handheld devices. Currently, I am Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies (home of the Interdisciplinary PhD program). Don't miss my Deans' blog or the Dean's podcasts through University Affairs. I am still a professor in Faculty of Computer Science and co-director of the Web Information Filtering Lab. In 2001 I was Director of Electronic Commerce programs, a partnership with the Faculties of CS, Law, and Management. I do my best to encourage women in CS and I am also interested in the historical perspectives of computing.
